Superior Whitetail Does

Our Whitetail Does Play a Very Important Role in our Breeding Program

To grow impressive deer with consistency, we believe the #1 factor is having a distinguished doe herd and at Cross Canyon Whitetails we place high importance on the genetics of our whitetail does. We work toward the look of huge frames, long tines, and eye-catching width and we are continuously improving our genetics to produce the quality of deer that today’s market demands.

We stay on the cutting edge of the industry by selecting whitetail does with superior genetics – characteristics of very strong, consistent, deep pedigrees. Combining these proven doe genetics with the powerful pedigrees of our breeder bucks, Cross Canyon Whitetails aims for early-maturing, beautiful to look at, big-framed whitetail bucks.

Whitetail Doe and Fawn Care

At Cross Canyon Whitetails, we do everything we can to promote good health and longevity in our whitetail deer. Another part of our operation that has significance to us is caring for and bottle-raising our whitetail doe fawns. Judy has a deep love and interest in animals and has spent her life caring for all types of animals. Of that time (11 years and counting...), she has been immersed in all-things whitetail with emphasis on does and fawns. Her vast experience with doe/fawn care has led her to assist others in the industry and also help give knowledge to those that value what Cross Canyon has put into our fawn-rearing operation.

Summer is a busy time and our primary focus is on fawn care. You'll find our team assisting with the entire herd and working with fawns – bottle-raising select doe fawns, tagging, tattooing and vaccinating newborns. CCW has a state-of-the-art and very functional, licensed fawn rearing facility and on a seasonal basis, we have highly-trained and experienced, pre veterinary/wildlife biology interns that help Judy tend to the fawns (job responsibilities vary depending on time of year). Judy and her team often welcome fawns from across the state to bottle feed and care for as well.

At Cross Canyon, our fawns receive individualized care in our licensed, state-of-the-art facility and are handled by our well-trained, experienced staff. Open availability is limited and fills up each season. Please contact Judy for more information if you need boarding/care, call/text (512-635-4294) or email. We offer summer internships at Cross Canyon Whitetails, contact us for more info.
